What’s This Mingu? : Folklorist Tsuneichi MIYAMOTO and the Legacy of His Mingu Collection

Our collection of folk materials, built since back when Tsuneichi MIYAMOTO guided acquiring them, is used not only as research materials in folklore studies. They are a design archive of the culture of everyday life referred to in art and design education and creating works. This exhibition, based on verification in recent years of the history of the collection’s formation, carries on this collection as a wellspring of expression, our unique legacy, and introduces a great variety of mingu, articles for everyday use.
